Born in Awaji island, Hyogo prefecture Graduated from Tama Art University with a major in oil painting.Fascinated by the simple strength of the 800-year-old tradition of Kurotani washi, he became a trainee of Kurotani washi in 1997. In 2000, he became independent as a Kurotani washi maker.
