Asaho KAMIYA

Asao Kamiya decided to become a potter because she was fascinated by the “materiality and texture of clay. That is why her work has a unique texture. The tender colors of her paintings come from motifs in nature and images in her memory, but the works are triggered by what they speak to her, and “the ideal is to fuse the texture and shape of the clay with the paintings,” she says. You can enjoy tea with her matcha bowls and other tea equipment as well as her ceramic works displayed in the “silk” room of Rakudo-an.
